Yunetta Spring Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) licensed in Tennessee, and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. She is also a Certified EMDR Therapist, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, EMDRIA Basic Trainer, and EMDRIA Advanced Trainer bringing both the depth of specialized clinical training and the warmth of someone who genuinely believes healing is possible for every person who walks through her door. She is the founder and CEO of Spring Forth Counseling and Ground Breakers Coaching & Consulting, where her mission is simple and consistent: help people heal, grow, and move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and connection.

Yunetta earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies from Austin Peay State University and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Her clinical experience spans private practice, community mental health, mobile crisis services, military installations, schools, and group practice — giving her a broad, grounded understanding of the diverse lives and experiences clients carry into therapy.

Yunetta specializes in trauma specifically, childhood trauma that resurfaces and shapes adult life in ways that can feel confusing, exhausting, or stuck. She integrates evidence-based and experiential approaches including EMDR Therapy & Brainspotting, and other trauma-informed interventions to help clients REWIRE their nervous systems, move beyond survival mode and reconnect with who they really are. Her work is grounded in compassion, cultural humility, and nervous system regulation. She is especially passionate about serving Black and brown clients, neurodivergent individuals, and anyone who has spent too long feeling like their experiences don’t quite fit the standard mold. In Yunetta’s space, you don’t have to perform wellness or explain your identity you just get unmask and heal.

Beyond the therapy room, Yunetta is an international speaker, educator, and mental health media contributor. She is the author of Take the Struggle Out of Self-Care: Six Weeks to Create Your Self-Care Strategy and has trained clinicians across the United States and internationally in culturally responsive, neurodivergent-affirming approaches to trauma treatment. Whatever you’re bringing into therapy she’s ready to support you and she’s honored to be part of your journey.
